There’s something to be said for visiting a place just before or after the “busy season.” We are finding that out this week as we travel through Northeast Vermont. While the leaves haven’t reached their peak rich hues of vibrant red, yellow and orange, the roads through the foliage are less congested making the views of bright green, happy yellow and splashes of red that much more enjoyable.
The winding 5A offers not only hints of fall, but the beauty of Lake Willoughby. Just a few miles from the Canadian border, visitors can enjoy local wine, picturesque landscape and partially empty mountain biking trails before enthusiastic foliage hunters invade.
I miss New England fiercely, but at no time more than the Fall.
Tad – it is so beautiful. I can imagine that living among it would be incredible.
Def, bucket list accomplishment to experience. Now if I could see a moose!
Curiously, 10 years living in Maine and I never saw a moose. Saw my first wild moose while driving through the Bighorn Mountains in Wyoming this summer.
