Living in central Illinois offers a young couple the best of urban and rural. We experience all four seasons, hike among deer and turkey, and can easily visit Chicago or St. Louis for culture, food, sports, and entertainment. It’s a nice home base for travelers like us.
Every year we take an anniversary trip to celebrate our love for each other and travel. This year we wanted to do something special to celebrate our amazing 5 years together. Since we were married on the West Coast in California, it seemed natural that we renew our vows on the East Coast in Maine.
We booked a return visit to a cottage in quiet, charming Southwest Harbor, Maine where jams are sold on the honor system and blueberry pies cool in the window. We walked down the property’s pine needle path to the beautiful Maine beach to reaffirm our love for each other.
Since it was June, the lupines were in full bloom and offered a nice natural bouquet. Ryan and Brandi Moore Photography captured the beautiful day and special moments. We placed our written vows in a Rombauer Winery bottle to represent our wedding day and tossed it into Somes Sound, sealing our love and always-in-motion journey forever.
For us, true love travels.
